1.0.0
Release date: UpcomingUMU (Unity Mikuci Utility) automates the common, repetitive tasks of Unity development: editor extensions, user interface handling, logging, saving and platform specific build settings in one package. The aim is to relieve the developer of monotonous work that a tool can do. Every module can be used on its own, and most of them build on the Common module, so it is the one to import first.
The foundation is Common + Utility: versioned JSON saving with optional AES encryption, Newtonsoft based serialization, reflection and asset helpers, and a set of inspector attributes ([Button], [ShowIf], [ReadOnly], [Required]) that make components easier to configure. GUI Manager adds a panel and popup framework on top of Unity UI. Panels are prefabs whose ids are generated as constants, navigation keeps a history with a built-in back function, popups are layered with a waiting queue, and input is blocked while a transition runs. Transitions work without an Animator, with an optional DOTween engine, and the Android back button and the safe area are handled as well.
Audio is a central runtime audio system: an AudioManager singleton, SFX pooling with pitch variation, music crossfade, mixer routing with automatic music ducking under voice and SFX, UI sounds and persistent per-channel volume and mute settings. Messenger broadcasts messages between components and scenes with a defined lifetime. The Logger gives one logging layer with its own console window and log levels, and Debug Mode adds a development settings window, an in-game debug console and an FPS counter. Internet Checker runs an asynchronous, non-blocking connectivity check, and Hardware Detector evaluates the device tier with configurable rules.
For builds, the Android Manifest Editor edits AndroidManifest.xml graphically and validates it against the Android 12 to 14 rules, and the Xcode Settings Editor lets the Xcode project settings be defined inside Unity so that every iOS build is generated with them. The Audio Cutter cuts audio clips in the editor, and the Panel Overview and Panel Optimizer windows help to review and check GUI Manager panels.
UMU requires Unity 6000.3 or newer and is maintained and tested on 6000.3.20f1. It is delivered as precompiled assemblies (UMU.dll for the runtime and UMU.Editor.dll for the editor) with prefabs, assets, demo scenes and documentation, without C# source code. The Newtonsoft Json, Input System and Unity UI packages are needed and are not bundled. It is developed and tested on Windows, and the runtime part is tested on Android. Version 1.0.0 is the first public release and its date is not set yet.
