MailSide – Privacy Policy

Introduction

This privacy policy applies to the MailSide Google Workspace Add-on developed by BMSoft1024. The add-on runs on the Google Apps Script platform and performs filtering and rule management tasks exclusively within your own Google account.

MailSide does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to BMSoft1024 servers or third parties.

Data Controller

What data does the add-on access?

MailSide accesses the following Gmail data with your permission to provide its functionality:

  • Email subject, sender, recipient, date and headers (for applying filter rules)
  • Email body and attachments (for content-based rules, if configured)
  • Message and thread identifiers (for performing actions: archive, delete, move)
  • Gmail folders and labels (reading, creating, modifying labels)

This data is processed by MailSide exclusively within your Google account, on Google Apps Script infrastructure – it is never sent to BMSoft1024 servers.

How does the add-on work?

MailSide runs on the Google Apps Script platform, which means:

  • All code execution and data processing occurs entirely on Google's infrastructure
  • The add-on operates exclusively within the scope of your Google account
  • Rules and settings are stored in Google Script Properties within your account
  • BMSoft1024 has no direct access to your emails or settings

OAuth authentication is handled by Google – BMSoft1024 never receives your authentication credentials.

Third parties

MailSide uses the following Google services for operation:

  • Google LLC – Gmail API, Google Apps Script platform, Google Drive (script storage)

Google's data processing terms can be found in the Google Privacy Policy. MailSide does not integrate any other third-party SDKs, analytics systems, or advertising networks.

User rights

Since MailSide does not store personal data on BMSoft1024 servers, classic data protection requests (access, deletion from server) are not applicable to the developer – your Google account has sole control over your data.

You can revoke the add-on's access permissions at any time through your Google account settings.

EU users (GDPR): Since there is no remote data processing by BMSoft1024, GDPR requests to the developer are not applicable. For more information, visit: European Data Protection Board

US users (CCPA): Since there is no data collection by BMSoft1024, CCPA requests are not applicable. For more information, visit: California Attorney General - CCPA

Modifications

If the add-on's data handling behavior changes in the future, we will update this policy, and the new version will be published in the Google Workspace Marketplace listing and on this page.
